Champion gymnast, Hannah, is one of the students celebrating today after securing top A-Level grades.
Balancing her studies at St John’s Catholic School and Sixth Form College, in Bishop Auckland, with her training as part of the England Acrobatic Gymnastic Squad presented challenges, but Hannah’s dedication and determination won through.
“Balancing training sessions and competitions alongside schoolwork has also taught me how to manage my time effectively,” she said.
“Although it can be challenging, learning to balance both commitments has helped me to stay organised, focused, and motivated in both my academic work and the sport.”
Her commitment paid off, as not only did Hannah take Gold last year at the British Gymnastic Championships, but today she found out she had achieved an A* in A-Level Geography, and As in Biology and Psychology.
During her time at the Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust school, she also drew on her own experiences to write an Extended Project Qualification about how early specialisation in a sport affects children’s health and development, for which she received an A*.
Now, she plans to study Psychology at Durham University – and naturally, continue her gymnastics career as part of the 2026 England development pathway.
