Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust proudly hosted its inaugural BHCET Swimming Gala on Wednesday, 30th April at Mill House Leisure Centre in Hartlepool. It was a fantastic celebration of talent, teamwork and sporting spirit across our Trust.

Open to students from all five of our secondary schools, the event offered a brilliant opportunity for young swimmers to showcase their dedication, perseverance and skill in the pool. The atmosphere was electric, with plenty of cheering, friendly rivalry, and outstanding sportsmanship on display throughout the day.

A standout moment was the return of two special guests, St. Michael’s alumni Erin and Melody, both British and National swimming medallists. Their visit was truly inspirational, showing students the heights that can be reached through hard work, passion and commitment. Erin and Melody spent time encouraging the swimmers, answering questions, and celebrating the achievements of the next generation. A huge thank you goes to everyone who volunteered and supported the event behind the scenes.

Final Results:

1st – St. Michael’s
2nd – OLSB
3rd – Carmel
4th – St. John’s
5th – English Martyrs

We look forward to making the BHCET Swimming Gala an annual tradition, continuing to celebrate the dedication, enthusiasm and excellence of our students.
